Mr. Sermsak Pongpanit, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, is ready to approach "Ladda Tammy Duckworth", a renowned member of the U.S. Senate from Illinois, a Thai-American person with disability, to be the first Honorable Friendly Design Ambassador to promote Tourism for All (The First Honorable Friendly Design Ambassador to promote Tourism for All) or the First Honorable Tourism for All Ambassador in world tourism history.
"This is in line with Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin's policy to create opportunities and expand the tourism market for all," Minister Sermsak stated. "This is to serve the aging population, which represents a significant market segment in the present day, as well as health tourists, families, individuals with disabilities, and wheelchair users from across the globe. These tourists have high purchasing power and tend to stay for longer periods, making them high-value quality tourists. We must improve and develop our infrastructure to meet universal design standards, or Friendly Design, to be ready to accommodate this high-potential group of tourists to receive comfort and safety at international standards in accordance with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)'s guidelines on sustainable tourism development that leaves no one behind."

In addition, the Minister of Tourism and Sports has also instructed the establishment of a committee to drive universal design to support tourism for all. This is to ensure that facilities are ready to accommodate everyone, such as hotel rooms, parking, ramps, toilets, public transportation systems, including airplanes, cars, and boats, as well as various online systems, etc., to be ready to support tourism for all at international standards without discrimination.
